Altar servers assist the priest and deacon at the altar during the celebration of Mass. An altar server should have a good understanding of the Mass structure and prayers. Training is provided for those interested becoming altar servers.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist in distributing Holy Communion at Mass. They may also bring communion to parishioners who are homebound or who reside in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
Since ancient times the Church has used the Cross bearer in its celebrations to bear witness to and to remind the faithful with a powerful symbol of our redemption through Christ’s suffering. Represent our faith community in liturgical worship by carrying the cross as a reminder of Jesus’ passion, death, and triumph.
St. Christopher Parish welcomes all to pray the rosary together at 6:30 pm on Tuesday evenings. If you would like to lead the Rosary please contact Fr. Dan.
Hope you will join us!
Being a welcoming community is very important at St. Christopher Parish. Hospitality welcomes everyone coming into our church, offers assistance to those in need, takes up the collection, distributes the bulletins and other materials as needed. All that is needed to be an ushers is a desire to serve and welcome your fellow parishioners.
Lectors proclame the Word of God in the readings before the Gospel. A deep faith in God and an appreciation of the Sacred Scriptures, along with the ability to read publicly in a clear voice, is all that is needed be a lector at Mass.
In every Church building, art and architecture become
the joint work of the Holy Spirit and the local community.
They come together in order to prepare a place
to receive God’s word in Scripture and Eucharist.
Built of Living Stones: Art Architecture, and Worship
The Liturgical Environment team of St. Christopher’s assists in designing and implementing liturgical themes for the liturgical “seasons” of the year: Advent, Ordinary Time, Christmas, Lent, the Triduum, Easter and Pentecost.
We seek parishioners to beautify our worship spaces:
*parishioners with an appreciation of religious art and good liturgical sense
*those with creativity and talent in the arts
*helping hands
Do you have an interest in art, sewing, floral arranging and more?
Would you like to assist in placing flowers and enhancing the church environment 6-8 times a year?
With the change of liturgical seasons meetings will be scheduled on the parish calendar.
